TCUs: Spanish technology on board Artemis II
Did you know that our Thermal Control Units (TCUs) have provided life support for the crew traveling further from Earth than ever before?
Our Thermal Control Units (TCUs) do much more than just regulate temperature. They are essential to ensuring the crew has air to breathe and water to drink at all times. Each European Service Module is equipped with two of these units working around the clock. Their mission is vital: to guarantee a safe and reliable environment for the crew.
How do they achieve this?
Power: They distribute up to 1.4 kW of power—the equivalent of what it takes to heat your room in the winter.
Control: They manage over 330 sensors, heaters, and actuators to ensure that the temperature control, air supply, and water systems function flawlessly.
We accompany the pioneers of Artemis II on every kilometer of their journey, proving that when technology and passion come together, space is no longer a limit, but our next home.
